One of the basic tenets of CFA is that you shouldn't have to move to California to be a filmmaker.

Unfortunately, most of the people who gain the technical & creative skills to make movies leave Indiana because there aren't enough jobs in related areas (editing, sound, cinematography, etc.) to keep them here. In fact, a lot of people associated with Cinephile over the years have moved on to seek their fortunes elsewhere.

In Indiana, filmmaking lacks the political and arts support that some other artistic mediums enjoy and part of Cinephile's mission is to help fill the gap.

Welcome to the new CFA website. For people who are familiar with CFA (and knew us back when we were just plain "Cinephile") this is the first major website change in about 2 years.

For those who were concerned that we had gone away, well we haven't. We just took this past summer off to work on other pursuits (like the now infamous Dark Carnival Film Fest... yes, that was us!)

This new website was a long time in coming- the old site never accomplished what was intended, got thoroughly overrun by spammers, and was too hard to maintain.
